Specialise in human resource management by combining your people skills with business knowledge.

Human resource management requires a combination of knowledge and people skills. This programme will give you an understanding of both as you cover everything from employment relations and human resource management to communication and organisational behaviour management.

It covers business basics such as communication, human resources, business law, organisational culture, economics, risk management and problem solving, then focuses on human resource aspects of business.

Entry requirements

Academic requirements
  • 50 credits NCEA Level 2 or above which much include:

    • 12 credits at Level 2 in each of three subjects and
    • 8 Literacy credits at Level 2 or above in English or Te Reo (4 credits must be in reading and 4 credits in writing) and
    • 14 Numeracy credits at Level 1 or above in Mathematics or Pangarau
Alternative requirements
    • Equivalent relevant business experience.

  • If English is not your first language you may also be required to provide evidence of your English language skills. If you have no evidence of your English language skills and are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, contact us for an assessment.

    Note : IELTS scores used must be taken from a single IELTS Test Report Form and are valid for two years from the date of the test.

    Students who have achieved NCEA Level 3 University Entrance requirements are not required to provide evidence of English language skills.
