To enable students to develop knowledge of the anatomy, physiology and common pathologies of the human body in relation to the gastro-intestinal, cardiovascular, urinary, respiratory and reproductive systems.

Learning outcomes

  • Describe and relate the anatomical, physiological and pathological features of the gastro-intestinal, cardiovascular, urinary, respiratory and reproductive systems to patient clinical presentations and discuss the implications for medical imaging.
  • Analyse the relationship between pathological processes and their presentation on chest and abdominal images including cross sectional images.
  • Identify normal variants on chest and abdominal images including cross sectional images.
