At Te Puna Wānaka we deliver short courses in Te Reo Māori flexible enough for anyone to get involved. We have lessons in classes and delivered online and these are supported by additional weekend Wānanga (language workshops).
Te Kākano starts with the elementary aspects of the Māori language and quickly moves into sentence structures that will allow a student to converse effectively in prescribed settings.
Te Pihinga builds on language skills developed in Te Kākano. Vocabulary is broadened and students begin to look at how language use can vary in different settings while learning associated vocabulary.
|Te Hoe, Beginners Māori Language
This course is a 10-hour introductory Māori language course for students with no knowledge of Te Reo Māori or Tikanga Māori.
|Te Papa Whakatipu
On completion of this course students will be able to understand and respond to spoken Māori in a familiar environment.
