Market Day at CPIT
A range of delectable treats will be on sale this Friday at CPIT’s very first Market Day.
A group of Year 13 Villa Maria students will be preparing, cooking and serving a range of jams, pickles, chutneys and baked goods at the Market Day on September 26.
Manager of Culinary programmes Ryan Marshall says Villa Maria College have been operating their Home Economics classes from CPIT premises. “They will now be holding a Market Day selling the products they have made. It’s going to be a great day with some delicious food for sale.”
Market Day will be on Friday 26th September in ‘Visions Court yard’ which is outside Visions Restaurant. The event will run from 11.30am until 2pm.
Food items for sale will include pickled onions, red onion jam, tomato chutney, prunes in port, dried apricot jam, preserved lemons, marinated olives, muffins, scones and swiss rolls. A range of hot and cold beverages will also be available.
Marshall says in order to buy goods on the day people need to purchase a ‘Pantry card’ first, then they will be able to spend it at the stalls. “They will need to purchase a $4, $8, or $12 card from The Pantry, in U block, to use to purchase goods from the Market Day. We hope lots of people pop along and pick up something to eat.”
If wet, the event will be held in the Atrium.
