Food, sex and aging- CPIT joins chemistry panel
CPIT’s Dr Michael Edmonds helps answer some of life’s more complex questions in a panel discussion with Radio New Zealand National interviewer Kim Hill this Thursday.
The discussion follows what promises to be a fascinating and fun talk from Canadian science educator and author, Prof Joe Schwarcz who will explore the topic, "Are cows more trustworthy than chemists?"
The gala event, at University of Canterbury (UC) from 6pm, tops off the International Year of Chemistry in style. Michael will be joined on the panel by Ian Shaw, UC professor of toxicology, TV personality and journalist and Margreet Vissers from the University of Otago, Deputy Director of the Free Radical Research Group. The discussion will be recorded and broadcast on Radio New Zealand National as part of Kim Hill’s Talking Heads series of panel discussions titled Inside Out: the chemistry of food, sex and ageing.
Tickets are just $10 - book online at or cash sales on the door, Jack Mann Auditorium, Dovedale Campus, University of Canterbury.
