Whakatau sets the scene for 2018

Some 200 students attended the Timaru Campus Whakatau this morning. Jess Kerr, a first year nursing student, led the students during the ceremony with the blessing of the local marae.

The Whakatau welcomed students to the campus and set the tone for the year. Tamesa Chief Executive Tony Gray and Tamesa Kaiārahi (Māori Advisor) Te Marino Lenihan were amongst the dignitaries involved in the event, along with local iwi leaders including Kalinia Te Rahui–Harris from Te Rūnanga o Arowhenua.

Whakatau will also be held at the Woolston Campus on 21 February and at the City Campus Christchurch on 26 February.
